About instructor Claudia Breuer

Claudia is a Pilates and fitness instructor from Marin County, California who has combined her two passions stand up paddle boarding (SUP) and Pilates. She is a certified Pilates instructor through the Physicalmind Institute, and trained by Ellie Herman. As an instructor, Claudia has been teaching Pilates and other fitness classes since 2004, in Marin County, Orange County, San Diego and Kauai. She has had the opportunity to train professional athletes ranging from top level golf pro's to pro surfer's and has done a lot of rehab work with her clients. She started teaching SUPilates on Kauai in Hanalei Bay after buying her first Surf/SUP board from a local shaper. "There is something magical about being on top of the water viewing Gods creation." Claudia loves competing in races and uses Pilates as her training tool. Her most recent, exciting races she has competed in are: Evan Valerie's 17 Mile Napali Challenge, Folsom Olympic Triathlon with SUP, Tahoe Nalu 10 Mile and The Battle of the Bay 8.5miles . When Claudia is not on her stand up paddle board on the San Francisco Bay, she is on Mount Tam riding her mountain bike, in her studio painting, in the classroom teaching or designing the latest fitness apparel lines.

What is SUPilate?

SUPilates is the newest Stand up paddle board fitness craze on the San Francisco Bay! Brought to you by Claudia Breuer of Marin, SUPilates gives you the opportunity to have a great fun work out on the calm waterfront of Sausalito aboard high end stand up paddle boards. SUPilates is an excellent way to strengthening your core, increase flexibility, endurance and acts as a great injury prevention tool for all ages, athletes and experience levels.

What is Pilates?

Pilates (pronounced puh-lah-teez and not pie-lates) is similar to yoga but strengthens your body’s core — the abdomen, oblique's, lower back, inner and outer thigh, glutes, and more. For this reason, Pilates develops much of what exercisers need — strength, flexibility, muscular endurance, coordination, balance, and good posture — with a much lower chance of injury than with other forms of exercise. The discipline emphasizes correct form and the burn. With so many exercise variations and progressions, you may have a hard time getting bored with Pilates. Pilates is the best full body work out and gives you quick results. The breathing will help you in every part of your life, relieving stress and giving you more endurance for daily exercise, finish a race and training.
